When traveling to Guatemala, you are required to present a negative COVID-19 test (PCR or Antigen), no older than 3 days before travel date or a certificate from a health care provider stating that you have recovered from COVID-19 in the 90 days preceding travel. You should also provide a

COVID-19 Vaccine certificate if available

There are no quarantine requirements.

All arriving passengers must complete an online Health Pass before arrival.

Quarantine is not required.

Fully vaccinated travelers can enter and are not required to present negative PCR test results, or antigen test results.

You should have received two doses (one dose if vaccinated with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine).

AstraZeneca, Moderna, Pfizer, and Sputnik V are approved for use in Guatemala.

Domestic travel

Most amenities, tourist sites and shops are open in Guatemala.

The sale of alcoholic and fermented beverages is prohibited from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Every town has been assigned a color from red to green, which corresponds to the number of positive COVID-19 cases reported. For information about the specific restrictions in your location, refer to the Guatemalan government’s website (https://COVID19.gob.gt/semaforo.html).

You should familiarize yourself with the threat level in your area and keep up-to-date with any changes.

Public transport is operating; however, there are a number of restrictions on capacity and access can still be very limited. If you wish to travel to or from the airport, you should hire a private taxi or driver.
